This initiative is a crucial step in safeguarding vulnerable children and ensuring that those in the taxi and private hire industry are equipped with the knowledge to spot potential abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taxis are sometimes used to transport young people for the purpose of exploitation. Whether knowingly or unknowingly, drivers may find themselves in situations where children are being taken to locations where they could be at risk. By raising awareness, we can help drivers become the eyes and ears of the community, identifying and reporting any concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What Can Taxi Drivers Look Out For?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Young passengers appearing distressed, anxious, or withdrawn.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Passengers who seem to be under coercion or control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frequent trips to hotels, secluded locations, or unfamiliar areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Young people travelling late at night or during school hours without a clear reason.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Signs of physical abuse, such as bruising or malnourishment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taxi company owners can play a significant role in this initiative by downloading and sharing the &#8220;Look Closer&#8221; leaflet with their drivers.
