Because this story isn’t about art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s about every ‘weakness’ we’re told to fix:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- The daydreamer who sees worlds others can’t.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- The quiet one who is told to speak up more<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- The restless mind that can’t sit still.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Often, our greatest flaws are strengths\u2014just in the wrong environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Think about it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Steve Jobs was fired for being ‘uncontrollable.’<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Oprah Winfrey was fired for being ‘unfit for television.’<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Walt Disney was fired for ‘lacking imagination.’<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The real question isn’t “How do we fix them?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s “How can they thrive?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The next time you see someone’s ‘weakness,’ ask:
“What if this is their superpower?”<\/p>\n\n\n\nAll it takes is one person to see the potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One different perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Be the person who gives others a chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can remember being 12 years old, Year 7 in secondary school\u2014my English teacher, Mrs. Beighton, wanted us to read a fiction book (which I’ve never been interested in). I brought in three of my books: a biography of Pel\u00e9, a biography of Mike Tyson, and a magazine named Boxers<\/em>, version 1, which was about Muhammad Ali. I was told off for reading these books instead of the fiction book she wanted me to read. I wasn’t interested in ‘Peppa Pig floating down the lake!’. That experience made me stop reading altogether for two years until another English teacher in year 9 aged 14, Mrs North encouraged me to start reading again……….about another boxer I was interested in…….Roberto Duran………this time any time we were encouraged to write our fiction stories, I would write about Roberto Duran, not in the context of the great boxer he was, but in the context of the fiction setting Mrs North had set out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
